Eco-Friendly Materials

Our Choice: Eco-Friendly PLA Filament
We care about the impact our creations have on the planet—so we choose to print with PLA (short for polylactic acid), a more sustainable 3D printing filament. PLA is made from natural, renewable materials like corn starch and sugarcane, rather than fossil fuels. That means it comes from plants, not petroleum.

Unlike traditional plastics, PLA is a bioplastic. Under the right industrial composting conditions, it can break down, making it a more environmentally responsible option for makers and creators. It also produces fewer emissions during production, reducing its overall carbon footprint.

Using PLA helps us create with care—not just for the quality of the prints, but for the world we’re making them in.

A Note on PLA Care
Because PLA is plant-based, it does come with a few care considerations. It’s best kept away from direct sunlight or high heat (like a hot car or near a window on a summer day), as it can soften or warp over time. We see this as a worthwhile trade-off for choosing a more eco-conscious material—and we’re always happy to help you find the best option for your needs.
